At the commencement of a church renovation project, we worked with the builder and a couple who wanted to memorialize the death of their young son. Their son had served as a church acolyte. The end result was the creation of two magnificent doors leading to the acolytes’ closet. These eight-foot, six-panel, quarter-sawn, red oak doors also featured a hand-carved inscription and forged working hinges and hardware. The project was a true collaboration of four different artisans.
